2018 was a big year for Calgarians, and a bigger year for the Calgary Public Library. The New Central Library, which was ranked by Architectural Digest as the World’s 8th Most Anticipated Building in 2018, officially opened its doors on November 11th.
Venture worked closely with the Calgary Public Library to develop and execute campaigns throughout the year leading up to the grand opening. The campaigns were focused on promoting key events for the CPL, increasing library memberships and ultimately, promote the grand opening of the New Central Library.
Through the use of illustrations, captivating imagery of the building and a fully integrated media campaign, Venture was able to tell the Library’s story throughout the year and contribute to the awareness and excitement Calgarians had for one of the city’s most spectacular pieces of architecture.
Our visual team created a campaign focused on the library itself – what a library means to the people who use it. The resources and connections that it fosters within a community. We compounded that essence with a “get your free library card” campaign to create awareness of the upcoming launch and the many services a library provides. Our efforts successfully leveraged the anticipation and created buzz both within our home city, and all across the world.
